Alvaro Pastor made history during his 2025–26 redshirt freshman campaign at Tarleton State, sweeping WAC Player and Freshman of the Year honors while earning All-WAC First Team and PING Central All-Region selections. He set school records for single-season stroke average (70.5) and lowest 18-, 36-, and 54-hole scores, racking up seven top-10 finishes. Pastor became the first Texan to win consecutive tournaments with medalist honors at the Golden Nugget Invitational and All-American Intercollegiate, led Tarleton to its first conference title with a third-place WAC finish, and placed fifth at the NCAA Marana Regional.
A Madrid native and Ortega y Gasset graduate, Pastor arrived in college golf after ranking fifth in Spain's U18 division, highlighted by victories at the 2024 Copa Andalucía, 2022 RSHEC Men's Championship, and Campeonato Absoluto de Castilla y León. He also represented Spain at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships, placing 24th. The son of Luis Miguel Pastor and Maria del Mar Roman, Pastor entered the transfer portal after two seasons at Tarleton and signed with Texas Tech in June 2026.
